Artist Ultimate, number 48

Quilt maple top

Designer's note:

"Each Artist Ultimate has its own personality and this one is no exception. Our client came to the shop to pick out a top for his dream axe. It was an agonizing decision to make, with several different choices laid out before him. In the end, we decided upon this deep quilt with medium 'spoon' figure. We 1think he made a good choice, don't you?"

Gorgeous ripples of quilt maple offset with over 250 pieces of mother of pearl. The pickups are hand-wound at midnight by Seymour in his dungeon lab, then hand signed and serial numbered to match the guitar. The instrument comes with full documentation, and the specifications are archived at Duncan's offices in case the owner ever needs an exact replacement.
The top on this instrument is so deeply figured that it looks good in any light. We were delighted to finish the guitar in Brown Sugar, which allows the figure to change as you move the guitar. The tidy ivoroid binding and darkness of the f-hole stand out in contrast to the undulation of the quilt.

A formal-looking headstock with mother of pearl appointments all around. The first fret inlay is like the tie on a tuxedo!
