Newport
'TV' Classictron
Designer's
note:
"We
decided to dip into a different sonic realm with this guitar for the
NAMM show. From a woodworking standpoint the idea was to build an instrument with even
more low end growl without losing the shimmer that these pickups produce.
The medium scale (24.75") accentuates the fundamental, and a center
block makes the mids very focused. We're happy with the result."

| The
ultimate grade figured maple top is almost dominated by the three
TV Jones Classic Tron pickups. Lot's of chrome, binding and the black
chickenhead knob all beg for your attention! We carve the top inside
and out, not just the part you see, to make it a true arch top. |
|
| The
single piece mahogany back is beautifully matched to the neck and
finished in a deep cherry lacquer. |

| Access
to the electricals is accomplished via a mahogany door which
is cut from the body blank for a perfect match. |
|
| The
"stair-step" tuner buttons were retained from the stock
Newport configuration, and they look even more at home on this
guitar. |

| Gorgeous
curly maple on the wide-bodied Newport shape, a feast for the
eyes. Slightly larger than a solid-body rock guitar, yet compact
enough to rock out—this guitar straddles the lines between
several musical genres, both visually and sonically. |

| One
last look at the details. Brazilian rosewood, inlaid with genuine
pearl "victory" markers. Think about it, there are
thirty inlays on the fingerboard! The hand-stacked ivoroid binding
is four-ply, and adds an elegant touch to the guitar's border. |
