"SuperPort" Designed for Matt Smith


Designer's note:

"For this project Matt was looking for a little more snap to the notes, so adding a maple top was the answer. The fingerboard dimension was slightly wider (1.750") at the nut to help Matt out when he plays fingerstyle. We put a few surprises in for him like the maple back, just so that the audience won't get all the fun."

Every angle reveals more detail, like the restrained elegance of simple pearl dots with the bound fingerboard.
     




This shot shows off the depth of the Cherry Sunburst color. Notice how the flame seems to deepen at the edge.
In true Hamer style there are surprises in unusual places. The figured back isn't a throwaway piece, it could have easily gone on the front of any guitar. This way Matt gets as nice a view as his audiences!


 


 
Here's a shot of the lovely gloss black headstock with its genuine pearl logo and hand-bound ivoroid outline. If you want to see if a guitar maker cares... look at his string nut. This one is a hand-polished work of art with a perfect fit.
