"SuperPort" Designed for Matt Smith
Designer's note:
"For this project
Matt was looking for a little more snap to the notes, so adding a
maple top was the answer. The fingerboard dimension was slightly wider
(1.750") at the nut to help Matt out when he plays fingerstyle.
We put a few surprises in for him like the maple back, just so that
the audience won't get all the fun."

| Gorgeous
tightly figured maple makes this Newport "super." |
|
| Every
angle reveals more detail, like the restrained elegance
of simple pearl dots with the bound fingerboard. |

| This
shot shows off the depth of the Cherry Sunburst
color. Notice how the flame seems to deepen
at the edge. |
|
| In
true Hamer style there are surprises in unusual
places. The figured back isn't a throwaway piece,
it could have easily gone on the front of any
guitar. This way Matt gets as nice a view as
his audiences! |

| Here's
a shot of the lovely gloss black headstock with
its genuine pearl logo and hand-bound ivoroid
outline. If you want to see if a guitar maker
cares... look at his string nut. This one is
a hand-polished work of art with a perfect fit. |
